Kith

Ronnie Fieg grew up in Queens and started at David Z, his uncle's sneaker store, at 13, working his way up to head buyer. In 2007 Asics let him rework the Gel-Lyte III, and his three colorways, 252 pairs each, sold out in under a day. He opened Kith in 2011 with two stores, one in Brooklyn and one at 644 Broadway in Manhattan, which opened on November 11. The Kith story on Quiet Menace follows what came next. Kith Treats, the cereal bar that arrived with the 2015 Brooklyn renovation, gave people a reason to visit when nothing was releasing. Collaborations stretched from adidas, New Balance and Converse to Polo Ralph Lauren, Coca-Cola and Cap'n Crunch. The Manhattan flagship moved to 337 Lafayette Street in 2017, into a three-story space designed with Snarkitecture. Tokyo opened in 2020 and Paris in early 2021, inside the Pershing Building near the Arc de Triomphe, and Kith and BMW revealed an M4 Competition limited to 150 cars. In November 2022 the Knicks named Fieg their first creative director. Kith also turns up in our SoHo guide, the resale story and the Salomon XT-6 piece. The Paris store hangs a chandelier made of resin-cast Air Max 1s.
